Dotting the Blemish and other stories is a peeling off of layers of prejudice, and oft-accompanying silence - some of it ingrained, some ignored. These are stories lived everyday, yet told rarely. This book heals that omission.

The cover features layers stripping off of a hollowed book. It talks of these stories lost and preserved.

The stories are divided into 3 sections, in order of time.  Each section was given a texture in which the illustrations were treated. Set in stone, carved into woodblocks and put on paper - while the way we’ve told the stories has changes, the story remains the same.

The sections end in a message of hope. A shattered rock, broken woodstamp and crumpled paper urge that these stories can be rewritten, and must be.
