The title logo design for Guns and Gulaabs on Netflix shouts pure unadulterated 90s Hindi cinema.

It features big cinemascope-esque letters, rough, jagged and riddled with cracks. A fire raging inside them. The heroic yellows, the dramatic reds. The masala, the tadka. The anger, the angaar.

The typography takes a soft, hand-painted treatment reminiscent of the iconic beauties that were the Hindi film posters of the time.

The practice of slashing poppies for opium - the root of all chaos in the show - used as a symbolic depiction of one of the many kills of 4-Cut Aatmaram, the assasin who famously kills his victims with 4 stabs.

The graphic intervetion was inspired by the iconic old Bollywood scenes where 2 flowers come together on screen as the couple kisses︎︎︎
